The 45th Annual School of the Arts at Rhinelander. From 20-25 July we'll
hold two bootcamps-- a dozen drills for aspiring writers and a more advanced
workshop for the nearly and newly published. Check out their

Wisconsin Writers Institute. We held two bootcamps--one
for aspiring writers, one for the nearly and newly published--
at the prestigious Wisconsin Writers Institute. Madison is a great town and
the Writers Institute is a great weekend! Many thanks to Christine
DeSmet and her staff.
Love is Murder -- no mystery there. We
had a very successful Boot Camp at the 10th Annual Love is Murder
Conference.
Boot Camp Goes to Indiana. We traveled to Northern Indiana on October 20th 2007 for a full day of Boot
Camp with the
Northwest Indiana Chapter 89 RWA.
Did I meet you in St. Louis? Our September 8th, 2007
Boot Camp at the St. Louis Sisters in Crime WritersFest was great. We got to
share the program with Nancy Pickard--cool! The St. Louis SinC put on a
great show, we packed 'em in, and everyone went away happy. Special
thanks to Joanna Slan.
Boot Camp meets Chicago's south siders. We held a 1-hour
presentation at the Palos Park Public Library on September 5th.

Novelist's Boot Camp does Dallas! RWA National Conference, July 13th, 2007. We presented "A
dozen dynamite drills from Novelist's Boot Camp." This one was great fun.
We had standing room only with over 70 people, sold out of copies of
Novelist's Boot Camp in the RWA Borders bookstore, and made loads of new
friends. Got invited to do more Boot Camps around the country. We're
looking forward to RWA 2008 in San Francisco!

Boot Camp in Space! Well, kinda. On 8-10 June we presented a
Novelist's Boot Camp in the Writer's Track of Duckon,
the science fiction readers' and writers' convention, Holiday Inn Select,
in sunny Naperville, IL. Great turnout, strange alien happenings in
the parking lot!
Boot Camp by the Sea. Chesapeake Romance Writers 2007 Spring Haven RetreatMay 25-27.
It was gorgeous along the James River.
Romantic Times Book Club 27th Annual Convention, April 25-29
2007, Houston Texas. We held a great Novelist's Boot Camp during RT '07,
and once again it was standing room only! Graduates completed the 2-day, 6 hour course
and received their
"dog tags," as well as receiving a free, exclusive,
personalized "battle map to success" for writing their novels!

These writers were really hungry for success. The pair
below really wanted to "take a bite out of boot camp" and maybe
the instructor as well!



I'm happy to report that several graduates of our 2006 RT Boot Camp
have put what they learned to use and now have publishing contracts!
Fremont Library in Mundelein, IL-- We held a mini Boot Camp on March
7th at 6:30 PM. Here's a map

Skokie Public Library -- Boot Camp began 17 March at 10:30. The
library is located at 5215 Oakton Street Skokie, Illinois 60077.
Niles Public Library -- we came back-- through a downpour and
high water--to this great little library at
1830 hrs, that's 6:30 PM to you civilians, on March 21st.
I shall return--to Palatine! And did! We stormed ashore at the
Palatine Public Library, 700 N. North Court

Novelist's Boot Camp on Saturday, March 24th.
Boot Camp takes Naperville! We had fun at the mini boot camp and signing at Barnes and Noble
bookstore in Naperville, IL. Met a couple of folks from the Nano writing
group. Very cool.
NOVELIST'S BOOT CAMP at Love
is Murder '07-- This was a blast--standing room only at the Boot
Camp! Love is Murder
(LIMCON) is Chicagoland's premier conference/convention for readers and
writers of mystery, suspense, romantic suspense, thriller, horror, true
crime, and other dark fiction. Always the first weekend in February, LIMCON is the best value in
conferences going and a must-do. See you for
our 10 anniversary in 2008!
2-day Mini Boot Camp at the Schaumburg Library. September

Romantic Times Book Club 26th Annual Convention, May 16 - 21
2006, Daytona Beach Florida. What a great conference! We graduated the
first "Boot Camp" class on 18 May. See the graduating class here!
